Signs of Life?

“Signs of Life?” is a series of three photographs which explores the use of words in photography. The subtle poignancy and juxtaposition of the signs lend a dark humour to the candid street photographs.

The series playfully prods at the futility and brittleness of life.

Subsequently, the narrative of the photographs aims to provoke an undercurrent of thoughts which are in direct conflict with the initial humour of the images.

The images are from London and Wellington, New Zealand  and were made over a five year period, from 2019 to 2024.
